150 years ago, this gorgeous diving seabird was nearly extinct due hunting and over-harvesting of its eggs. Lawmakers enacted strong conservation regulations protecting their main nesting habitat on Funk Island in Newfoundland. But this protection is increasingly meaningless as rising sea temperatures impact fish. They now face mass starvation - as fisheries face ruin.
